Education Counsellor
Job Summary
Job Purpose
The Education Counsellor will be responsible for advising students on suitable UK courses and universities, supporting applications, following up with leads, and helping students understand admission requirements, tuition fees, scholarships, documentation, and general study options.
Key Responsibilities
Advise prospective students on UK universities, courses, entry requirements, tuition fees, scholarships, and application procedures.
Guide students through the full application process, from initial enquiry to offer, deposit, CAS, visa preparation support, and enrolment.
Assess students’ academic background, English language ability, career goals, and financial situation to recommend suitable study options.
Follow up with enquiries, applicants, parents, agents, and international branch teams to improve student conversion.
Support students with preparing required documents, including academic certificates, personal statements, CVs, references, and other admission documents.
Provide accurate and honest information about studying in the UK, living costs, course options, and general student life.
Prepare students for university interviews and credibility interviews where required.
Coordinate with admissions teams, university representatives, and internal departments to process applications efficiently.
Maintain accurate student records, communication notes, application updates, and follow-up details in the CRM system.
Support education fairs, webinars, open days, social media campaigns, and student recruitment activities.
Ensure all counselling and recruitment activities are professional, ethical, and aligned with partner university requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Marketing, International Relations, or a related field.
Experience in student counselling, admissions, education consultancy, customer service, or student recruitment.
Good understanding of UK higher education and international student application processes.
Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build trust with students, parents, agents, and university partners.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple student applications and deadlines.
Confident using email, Microsoft Office, CRM systems, online meetings, and digital communication tools.
Professional, target-focused, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Desirable
Knowledge of UK university admissions, student visa processes, and credibility interview preparation.
Experience working with students from Nepal, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Ghana, or Pakistan.
Ability to speak additional languages relevant to international student markets.
Previous experience in sales, student recruitment, or education consultancy.
